Search For Buick Belts

Buick belts power many different parts in the car. In addition to the engine belts, there should be a V-belt or a serpentine belt powering the accessories. It is important to replace aging belts before they break to avoid serious damage.

Two Common Buick Belts

The V-belt in the 1980s Buick LeSabre powers the A/C, fan and alternator. There are V-belts for sale that include some or all of these components. There may be more than one V-belt in the car. Even if only one V-belt shows signs of wear, it is still a good idea to replace all of them at the same time. V-belts should be replaced every 25,000 miles, but do periodic visual checks, as well, to look for cracks or frayed edges. Don't forget to check both sides!

In 1990s and later Buick LeSabres, the serpentine belt powers these parts. Usually, one serpentine belt powers all the accessories. Again, some belts include parts like the A/C while others do not. You may also need a new tensioner pulley. As with the V-belt, replacement is recommended every 25,000 miles, or every two years, but visual checks are still recommended at regular intervals.
