Find Chevrolet Belts
Chevrolet belts and hoses should be changed regularly as part of your standard auto maintenance. It's part of the general replace and repair routine that all car owners should be aware of and be able to do themselves.
There are several basic auto repairs and maintenance that all car owners should learn how to do:
- Change the oil.
- Change the filters.
- Change a tire.
Changing Your Chevrolet Belts and Hoses
You may not think it, but changing belts and hoses is as easy as these basic maintenance tasks. There is no reason why you can't do these simple repairs yourself. With hoses, it's simply a matter of draining the coolant, unscrewing the old clamps, removing the old hose, placing the new hose where the old one was and then tightening the clamps. When it's in place and secure, add new coolant.
Changing a belt is just as easy. If changing a V-belt, first, loosen the components powered by the belt you are replacing, remove the old belt, thread the new one in the same configuration and then tighten up the bolts that hold the components in place. Changing a serpentine belt is much the same, only instead of having to deal with the bolts on each part, you simply move the tensioner to release tension on the belt and then remove the old one.
